AI roleplay living worlds

Build an AI roleplay world
that keeps changing with you.

A long-running roleplay world needs more than scenery. MelumiyaChat connects canon, locations, factions, secrets, current state and timeline events so the setting can keep its history as the story grows.

Living world continuity

A world feels alive when its history can survive the conversation.

“Living worlds” in MelumiyaChat means the setting is more than background flavour. Locations, rules, factions, relationships, secrets, objects, current state and timeline events can stay connected as roleplay changes them.

01 · Canon

What is true?

Core facts, history and rules have an explicit home instead of relying on whatever the model happens to recall.

02 · State

What is true now?

Current locations, relationships, injuries, objects and other changing facts can evolve with the story.

03 · Knowledge

Who knows what?

Secrets and character-specific knowledge can stay restricted instead of leaking across the cast.

From RP to world state

The story can add history without silently taking ownership away from the user.

New facts established in roleplay can be detected, classified and attached to provenance. Non-conflicting facts may be added automatically, while user-authored canon remains protected from silent overwrite.

  • Detect a meaningful world fact from the RP.
  • Classify it into the appropriate World Bible section.
  • Deduplicate or merge evolving state instead of creating clutter.
  • Handle contradictions rather than pretending both versions are true.
  • Preserve provenance so users can see where a fact came from.
LocationsPlaces can accumulate facts and history.
FactionsGroups, loyalties and conflicts can remain coherent.
SecretsKnowledge restrictions remain part of the world state.
TimelineMajor events have somewhere to live after the scene ends.

A world changes

An event happens.

A bridge is destroyed during the roleplay.

RP event

The world records it.

The location and timeline can reflect the change with provenance.

World Bible

Later scenes inherit the consequence.

Travel, factions and character plans can react to a bridge that is still destroyed.

Future state

Why it matters

Worldbuilding becomes useful when the RP can actually live inside it.

A detailed lore page is nice. A world that can keep track of what changed is what makes long-running interactive fiction feel persistent.

Build your world

Start with canon. Let roleplay create history.

Use the World Bible as the source of truth, Memories for character experience, and the timeline/current state to keep the story moving forward.

Explore the continuity system

Memory, relationships and worlds reinforce each other.

These pages focus on different search questions, but inside MelumiyaChat they are parts of the same continuity architecture.
